John Thomas Hinkle, 77, of Great Falls, died February 4, 2013, at his home of natural causes. Cremation will take place under the direction of Croxford Funeral Home. A memorial service honoring his life will be held Friday, February 8th, 1:30pm, Croxford Funeral Home, 1307 Central Avenue, Pastor Richard Dion officiating.
John was born to Archie and Ethel Hinkle, April 11, 1935, in Great Falls. He attended Great Falls Public Schools and received his GED while serving in the Navy. He served during the Korean War. After his military service, he returned to Great Falls. He married Donna Hubbard, January 1959, in Great Falls; they later divorced. He then married Sue Pale in July 1975. Over the years, he worked at The Great Falls Meat Packing Plant, the Anaconda Company, he worked as a glazier, and as a business agent for Painters Local 260. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, wood working and clock making.
He is survived by daughters Angie (Don) Marble and Joni Dee Deshner; sons David (Dawn); stepsons Kavin Morsette, Gene Sangrey and Danny Joe Sangrey; sisters Nellie Hinkle and Mary (Jerry) King; brothers Archie (JoAnn) Hinkle, Jim (Lorraine) Hinkle and Robert (Debbie) Hinkle; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Dee Dee; his parents; daughter Karey Hinkle; great-grandson Zachary.
A big thank you to the Benefis Dialysis staff, the folks at Meals on Wheels, special friend Chuck and friends at Tracy’s and Hardee’s.
Memorials may be made to the Montana Diabetes Association.
